We offer workshops that cover a wide range of techniques. No previous experience is required and a passionate HPL instructors will guide you every step of the way. All workshops are suitable for people aged 14 and over. Our workshops provide a hands-on experience and enable you to create ceramic pieces that reflects your personal style.

1 Hour Ceramic Decoration (Painting) Workshop – $50 p/person

Have fun decorating a tumbler or bowl or small vase. The workshop price includes tuition and 1 x bisque ceramic piece of your choice. All decoration materials and tools will be provided by HPL. Additional bisque pieces can be purchased on-site (cash only). After the workshop, HPL will glaze-fire the ceramic pieces with a clear glaze. Completed pieces will be available for collection 2-3 weeks following the workshop.

Workshop Dates:  Sunday, 30 March (11:30am to 12:30pm) – FULL, Sunday, 27 April (11:30am to 12:30pm) – FULL, Sunday, 22 June (11:30am to 12:30pm), Sunday, 28 Sept (11:30am to 12:30pm)

2 Hours Make A Mug Workshop – $80 p/person

Create your very own slab built mug whilst having lots of fun! The workshop price includes tuition and clay to create one mug. All tools required to make a mug will be provided by HPL. After the workshop, HPL will glaze-fire your unique creation (choose a colour from HPL’s selection of glazes). Completed mugs will be available for collection 2-3 weeks following the workshop. If you wish to decorate your mug with underglazes and/or oxides, the studio will bisque fire the piece and make it available to you for decoration during one of HPL’s decoration workshops. The cost to join a decoration workshop with your own bisque mug is $30 (1 hour decoration workshop).

2 Hours Make A Vase Workshop – $80 p/person

Create a slab built vase, ready for beautiful flowers! The workshop price includes tuition and clay to create one vase. All tools required to make a vase will be provided by HPL. After the workshop, HPL will glaze-fire your unique creation (choose a colour from HPL’s selection of glazes). Completed vases will be available for collection 2-3 weeks following the workshop. If you wish to decorate your creation with underglazes and/or oxides, the studio will bisque fire the piece and make it available to you for decoration during one of HPL’s decoration workshops. The cost to join a decoration workshop with your own bisque vase is $30 (1 hour decoration workshop).

2 Days (5 Hours Total) Make Your Own Tealight Houses Workshop – $145 p/person

During this workshop you will be introduced to ceramic slab building and decorating techniques to create up to 2 tealight houses. Day 1 of the workshop will focus on the building process. On day 2, the tealight houses will be refined and painted with underglaze and/or oxide mediums. The finished houses will be fit for purpose to hold beautiful tealights. The workshop price includes tuition, clay and decoration mediums. All decoration materials and tools will be provided by HPL. After the workshop, HPL will glaze-fire the ceramic pieces with a clear glaze. Completed pieces will be available for collection 3-4 weeks following the workshop.

2 Days (5 Hours Total) Make Your Own Christmas Gifts Workshop – $160 p/person

During this workshop you will be introduced to ceramic slab
building and decorating techniques to create up to 3 ceramic pieces (mugs, vases, trinket dishes or pressed plates (student choice). Whatever gifts you choose to make, Hannah will carefully guide
you through the making and decorating processes. Day 1 of the workshop will focus on the building
process. On day 2, your creations will
be refined and painted with underglaze and/or oxide mediums. The workshop price includes tuition and clay. All decoration materials and tools will be provided by HPL.  After the workshop, HPL will glaze-fire the
ceramic pieces with a clear glaze. Completed
pieces will be available for collection 3-4 weeks following the workshop.

Children Birthday Parties

During this 2 hour workshop the children will either make a gnome or paint a ready-made gnome (parent choice of curriculum).  Additional space is available for placement of birthday cakes etc. and the studio can be decorated with party goodies. Price per child is $80 (incl GST) which covers tuition, clay and glazing.
