Discover the captivating world of pottery and unleash your creativity with one of our hand building courses. HPL offers two levels of hand building courses – Beginners and Intermediate Courses.

Our intimate pottery studio offers a warm and welcoming environment.

Under the guidance of our skilled and passionate instructors, you’ll learn the fundamental techniques of shaping clay by hand. From pinching to slab construction, we’ll teach you how to transform clay into beautiful and functional pieces of art. Class sizes are kept to a max of 8 participants to ensure detailed, hands-on training.

Unless otherwise scheduled, classes occur once per week (2.5 hours per class).  

The 4-Weeks Beginner’s course is designed for those with no to little prior experience. This course is also recommended for Potters who want to reignite their creative spark.  

You will receive personalised attention and guidance throughout the entire course. Our experienced instructors will share their knowledge and help you to master the basics while encouraging the development of individual artistic styles.  The course fee of $280 (GST inclusive) covers tuition, tools, clay, glazes and kiln firings used during the course.  Payment terms available. 

During the 5-Weeks Intermediate course, you will build upon the foundation established during the Beginners hand building course. This course will empower you to delve deeper into the world of clay manipulation and craftsmanship to expand your repertoire of techniques and unlock new possibilities as you refine your skills. We will also focus on additional surface decoration techniques such as carving and layer-glazing techniques. The course fee of $320 (GST inclusive) covers tuition, tools, clay, glazes and kiln firings used during the course.  Payment terms available.
